Methodology:
The lessons are taught using a multi-sensory approach. During each lesson, the students will be taken through a number of activities to promote learning. These activities will not only be challenging to sustain interest but also manageable. Teachers teach according to the pace of each child and give additional help to any child who needs it so that every child can be at par with one another.

Teachers will ensure that the students are equipped with the necessary skills for the higher level tasks that they are expected to achieve at this stage. Skills such as knowing when the letter y acts as a consonant and when it acts as vowels are taught. Students also learn how some words are combined to form compound words. Students learn how more words can be formed from base words by adding prefixes and suffixes. Teachers will teach students the syllable structure of words and how to read words with two or more syllables.

Course Assessment:
The teacher will monitor the students and observe their progress all the time. The teacher provides feedback to the Project Coordinator after every lesson. At the end of each term (4 weeks), this information will be summarised and given to the parents in the form of a written report.
